VIDEO: Introducing HBCU's Abroad

HBCU Abroad is a new project in support of Generation Study Abroad. This innovative project was developed to build global awareness among the HBCU community. The initiative will promote Historically Black Colleges and Universities and those students that decide to internationalize their degree by going abroad. 

Objectives of HBCU Abroad:

• Promote HBCU students or alumni who have studied abroad
• Develop the network of global citizens within the HBCU community
• Motivate students to seek out opportunities for international experience.

Globalization is a movement changing the way the world works, and employers are increasingly looking for workers who have international skills and experience. The reality is, we are missing out on these opportunities. However, we need to start somewhere, why not start will a movement of our own?

HBCU's Abroad will launch on November 17, 2014. This is the first day of International Education Week.

What is International Education Week?
International education week celebrates the diversity of voices that have studied abroad. It is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Every day of this week, there will be a theme for study abroad students and alumni to share pictures, videos, and blog posts.

Tasty Tuesday: Show your favorite meal from abroad

Work It Wednesday: Share an action picture from the classroom or workplace

Throwback Thursday: For all my alumni!!! Share a vintage picture from study abroad.

School Spirit Friday: Share a picture wearing you school Paraphernalia

REMEMBER: Spread the word and get your school involved. The most participatory school will be recognized at the end of the week.

HBCUs Abraod Feature:
Every month The Natural Travelista will feature one person who has studied, interned or volunteered abroad for during their academic career. They will share their experiences, struggles, and wisdom.
